Hi, I am Ramiro.
I fell in love with photography when I took a black and white film photography class. I loved everything about the process. Taking the picture, going into a dark room to develop the film... going into another dark room to develop the prints, and finally going into the light to watch my work of art come to life was heaven. That experience was so rewarding that I decided to switch my career path from graphic design to photography. I completed an internship at Michael Carr Photography who photographs the most prestigious weddings in Houston.
Upon graduating, I went on to work at Terry Halsey Photography whose various clients include Lowe’s, Sonics, Wings and Things, AT&T, the City of Pearland, and numerous other Houston companies. I was photographing several weddings, quinceañeras, business headshots and portraits during this time. And after a brief break from photography, I moved to New York City to rediscover my love and passion for it. There, I got to work with notable photographers Brett Deutsch and Jacq Photograpie, photographing special events and weddings. I had an idea for a project to capture every neighborhood in Manhattan, from Battery Park all the way to Inwood in efforts to compose my first photography book. It is almost complete!
After two years, I returned to Houston and again teamed up with legend, Terry Halsey. Currently, I am actively involved with the marketing team at The Hack Houston, and I endlessly work at Ramiro Benitez Photography. My goal is to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible, all while encapsulating beautifully natural and timeless memories. I am looking forward to working with you!
Now, may I take your picture?
